A Nikon Loyalist.

My first was an old classic Nikon One Touch 35mm film. It got me through post-college in the 90′s, and experimenting was putting my Oakleys over the lens for the warm filter effect.

In 1999 I got my feet wet in the SLR arena with a Nikon Pronea APS film system. A sleek little silver camera and great fun with the zoom lenses, but a small film size, and I needed more. In 2003 I started shooting with a Nikon N80 SLR in 35mm film, making prints and scanning the negatives to digital files. It took me through Moab UT, the Grand Canyon and Yosemite. Really nice for B&W treatments, and I still keep it around.

In 2008 I jumped in to the 21st century digital age and experimented with an old digital Nikon D70 SLR. Much more versatile and instantaneous gratification, but the pixels and resolution were a little low. Since 2009 I’ve been shooting with my awesome new digital Nikon D700 SLR FX – with a full frame sensor the same size as 35mm film. It’s really versatile, really sharp, and pretty all-around great.
